Some think that a female yeast infection is easy to spot but the truth is not everyone has the same symptoms though there are certain common signs that are associated with this nasty illness. In fact there are even some women who have no symptoms at all! It is therefore important to be in tune with our bodies, pay close attention to how things feel and look and smell. If you are unlucky enough to have experienced a yeast infection before then seeing the signs that you have another one is easier. But if you have never had the misfortune you really should visit your physician so you can get a proper diagnosis and be sure it is not something else with similar symptoms.
Overly warm or hot to the touch skin.
Rash that has a border that is well defined and can happen anywhere on the body where it is moist.
Yeast smelling discharge.
Discharge that is thick and cottage cheese like in appearance and consistancy.
Irritation and redness around and on the vulva.
Once you know what female yeast infections symptoms look like it will be simpler to spot when you have an infection and this means you can treat it a lot sooner. At that point you need to take certain precautions so that you do not spread it or make it worse. For example it is important to keep the region clean and very dry. When you touch the infected area wash your hands after thoroughly. Avoid scented items like pads or tampons and do not douche. Wear loose fitting clothing not tight items and try for materials that allow the skin to breath such as cotton. Use a condom during sex as it is possible to pass the infection to him and you can keep passing it back and forth to each other for years!
