Candida albicans are the cause of yeast infections and these are single celled fungi that actually live in our bodies naturally. This fungus lives in damp and warm areas like the mouth, ears, gut, anus, penis and vagina. Sometimes the body's natural balance can get disrupted which can lead to the fungus over growing causing the yeast infection. There are various things that can cause an imbalance, common ones are antibiotics, pregnancy, menopause and birth control pills. As soon as you notice symptoms of a yeast infection make sure you look for its main cause.
Another popular method is garlic which is used to boost the immunity. A big contributing factor to yeast infections is low immunity and garlic can be eaten raw or applied directly to the infection for relief. The garlic has properties that are anti fungal which kills the yeast fungus and naturally treats the infection.
Another item that has anti fungal properties is gentian violet which acts in the same manner as garlic. Boric acid is too but as this is toxic extra care must be taken when using it. Some other options are potassium sorbate and tea tree oil.
It is important that if you are suffering from a yeast infection, you research as much information as you can about natural remedies, so that you know which ones will be suitable for you and safe. Also talk to your physician as soon as you notice symptoms so that he or she can help you find out what has caused the infection. That way you can properly treat it.
